Canadian Rocky Mountains

We live just an hour drive away from one of the world's most famous & beautiful mountain ranges: the Canadian Rocky Mountains.  Yes, we truly are blessed.

Last week, our family had a vacation to the Canadian Rocky Mountains.  It is a beautiful time of year and the autumn colours are stunning.

I wanted to share a few of my favourite places.
Herbert Lake
Banff National Park

Ducks on Herbert Lake

Peyto Lake

Beautiful glacier lakes & snow-capped mountains

Bull Elk
The sun & the angle of that the photo was taken = a very overexposed photo, especially since this photo was taken very quickly.
I played around in Photoshop to give it this "old" black & white look.

Mule Deer

 Bull Elk
Jasper

Elk
Jasper National Park
(We did not see any bears or moose on this vacation.
We did, however, see a fox, 2 coyotes & many white-tailed deer, but we didn't get photos of them.)

Vermilion Lakes & Mount Rundle

"Pick a Pic"

If you had to choose one of these photos as a 11"x14" photo + matting + 16"x20" frame, to match a large long hallway of nature-inspired colours, which one would you choose?????

I Won!

Well, it turns out that a photo I submitted for a photo display/contest at work over a year ago has won me some accolades! No big monetary prizes, but just a name to a photo. I did not even know there was a new"contest" at work for these submitted photos! From what my boss has told me is that the submissions were narrowed down to 8 photos & my church photo (below) came out on top. Yay!!

The church is an old United Church near Cochrane, Alberta. Photo taken in 2007 or 2008.
The photo below is copied from the email I received from work informing me that my entry will be used as an e-card.
I'll have to find the original church file as I just cleared thousands of photos off my computer recently.

Beggar Lady Photo: Before & After

As I can only add 1 photo for every "I Heart Faces" photo challenge, this is a separate blog entry for those interested in my "before" & "after" photo composites of the "Beggar Lady."
